Buffalo City Mission
On Sunday, October 17 the Pointmen Ministries conducted the service at the Buffalo City Mission. The ministry team included Mark and Sue Anderson, Pete and Julie Johnson, Harvey Johnson, Don Niethe and Doug Eggert. Sue was on the piano, Pete and Julie sang, Don gave his personal testimony of faith in Christ and Doug brought the message from God’s word. There were between 40-50 men in the audience with several responding to the salvation invitation.
Iron Sharpens Iron
A great second Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Equipping Conference on October 23. The conference was held again at the Wesleyan Church of Hamburg. Two dynamic Keynote speakers Kenny Luck in the morning and Reggie Dabbs in the afternoon kept over 750 men and students in rapt attention. A very large salvation and dedication response was experienced in Reggie’s address. We also found that Reggie plays a “mean” saxophone.
Wow! Over 30 exhibitors and then there were 19 breakout seminars through the day.
Ridgewood sent 13 to the conference. Six Ridgewood Bible guys made up the Parking Greeting Team. Dick McIntosh was one of four panelists for the “Cranking Up Your Men’s Ministry” seminar lead by Sam Richbart, Executive Director of Camp Hickory Hill.
Next year’s conference will be on October 29, 2011. Keynote speakers will be Bill Paige and Gene Getz. Gene Getz is the author of the book “The Measure of a Man” which Pastor Jennings is using in our current Thursday Morning Bible Study/Prayer time.
